A vincere la 64esima Mostra del cinema di Venezia è Ang Lee (che dedica il premio al regista Ingmar Bergman, recentemente scomparso).

La Coppa Volpi per la miglior interpretazione femminile è andata a Cate Blanchett (”I’m not there”), mentre miglior attore è Brad Pitt (”The assassination of Jesse James”).
